ChargePoint giving away free charge cards for National Plug In Day

Coulomb ChargepointIf you don't like your chances to win one of the ten free iPads Plug In America is giving away, you can guaranteed get a free ChargePoint card from ChargePoint between now and National Plug In Day 2012 this Sunday. You can sign up for the freebie (which, of course, you might still have to pay to use) by telling ChargePoint where to send it. Normally, a ChargePoint card costs $5.

ChargePoint told AutoblogGreen that there are many free ChargePoint stations and users have two ways to access paid stations. First, you can load up your ChargePoint accoung (the company recommends setting a $25 limit) and then, if you use a pay station enough times to drop your pre-paid level below $15, your credit card on file will automatically be charged back up to your limit (again, the recommended $25. The second way is to call the phone number listed on the station and pay with a credit card.

Over 60 cities will celebrate the Second Annual National Plug In Day, from Austin to Boston, Vermont to Hawaii. Last year, there were 29 National Plug In Day events across the country.
